Rose Ann's Story
Life
It's almost thirty years after high school graduation, and it's difficult for me to believe that the person I was then could have matured into the person I am today. After many, many, many years of counseling and a loving marriage, I have finally reached the point where I can look in the mirror and like what I see. Life has not been easy--my mother died from breast cancer in '83, and my father is now in a nursing home in the final stages of Alzheimer's. But I'm finally in a career field which I enjoy tremendously, and in which I know I'm having a positive effect on others. And although God chose not to bless my husband and me with "children of the body", we are now in the process of adding to our family with a sibling group of "children of the heart". I can't wait for the day I can change the part of my profile that asks that question! Please e-mail me if you'd like to talk!

te if you can to the organizations that are seeking a stop to this devastating illness.
My husband and I are finally back on track toward adoption, and, God willing, we will add to our family this summer! Details to follow as they become available.
Thank you to all who have written. HS was not a great time in my life, and those of you who have contacted me have helped give me some happier memories of those days.

Update (06/11): Can't believe I haven't been here for almost six years. I'm sorry to say still no adoptions in our lives, although we are currently working again toward our home study and all the multitude of things required as preliminaries for adoption. Hubby's parents both went on the decline after my last posting, and have since both died after long illnesses. We have also had the ups and downs of this economy hit home with job losses and job changes. But we continue to remain optimistic that the adoption of an older sibling group of two or three is in our future. Keep good thoughts and prayers, please.
